It just occurred to me that the...
Michigan-Notre Dame game is this weekend. I had forgotten, because absolutely NO ONE is talking about it. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. This is most likely the nadir of the UM-ND rivalry. National interest is low, the college football intelligentsia is focused on USC-OSU and the SEC, and both teams look like they'd have trouble beating WAC teams at this point. All that is needed to complete the picture is for Eric Cartman to show up and yell, "Cripple fight!"
And so this glorious mess will be played out on National TV, thanks to the infinite wisdom of the good folks at NBC. If forced to pick this pigskin equivalent of the special olympics, I'll take Michigan. For while Michigan is like a plucky one legged runner with an eyepatch, Notre Dame is more of multiple amputee pushing a chair with a straw.
