because I can't think of any other reason to draft two more forwards on a team that needs a point guard, and has 7, count'em, 7 guys on the roster who are between 6-7 and 6-10 who play the forward spots. Now NBA rosters are made up of 12 active players, you have 7 players who play the forward spots. It would seem logical to draft something other than a forward, like say a point guard since the team lacks one that should be playing anywhere higher than the NBDL. The 'fro, in his infinite wisdom, decided that the best course of action would be to take two more forwards, 6-9 and 6-10 to add to his ever burgeoning collection. Is he trying to disract from last year's drafting of Marvin Williams over Chris Paul, by making an even worse decision? Is he attempting to develop the first ever all forward roster in NBA history? It's almost as is he's taunting Hawks fans, "you thought the Marvin Williams pick was bad, watch this!" Is it any wonder that JV football teams now draw more than the Hawks in this state. Sigh.

Yes, it sounds exactly like Madonna's Holiday, much as Paris Hilton's new track closely resembles UB40. I guess they are figuring the preteen fan base of these two wasn't alive during the 80s and thus wouldn't notice. I can't wait to hear what Madonna will say, she's never been one to pass up free publicity. Of course this shouldn't be surprising as entertainment culture doesn't have a single new idea now a days. Look at the recent big movie releases, Poseidon(remake), The Omen(remake), MI3(old TV series and sequel), and The DaVinci Code(novel). Hell, the big movie event this week is based on a comic title that is now 68 years old, that's already been developed by filmmakers 4 times previously. There is definitely room in the pop culture landscape for more original thinking(and no that doesn't mean Tokyo Drift). More films like the 40year old Virgin and less like RV would restore my faith in Hollywood. My blogdom for an original movie idea!
