I was all ready to pick my beloved Birds to make the Super Bowl, and I had good reason too. They are the hottest team in the NFC, Garcia is completing almost 66% of his passes since taking over as the starter. The defense is now stopping the run and they are abusing opposing QBs lately. Combine this with the fact that every other playoff team in the NFC has issues: Grossman(0 QB rating, how does one manage that), Dallas defense(where has the pass rush gone), Seattle defense(both starting corners are out), any Giant not named Tiki(do they even care anymore) and New Orleans D(when Scott Fujita and Mark Simoneau are starting at LB you've got problems). Yes, the stars seemed to be aligning for a big Birds run, until I passed the newsstand this morning...

About the only omen more damning then a Sports Illustrated cover is a little kid named Damien.
