That's W's approval rating according to this new CBS poll. This is a new low, lower than the 29% reported by Harris at one point last summer, and of course the 30% reported by Gallup recently. As a frame of reference Clinton had a 60% approval rating at this time in his Presidency, and that was after the Lewinsky peccadillo had come to light. Another poll by the Washington Post indicates that 51% of Americans "strongly dissapprove" of his job performance. That is the highest strongly dissapprove in the history of their poll, higher even than that of one Richard M. Nixon. That my friends is some serious buyer's remorse. Ah, if only we could have a vote of no confidence as in a parlimentry system. Oh, well looking forward to '08!
